The latter part of last year was such a blur, so I’m excited to catch up on blogging some of last year’s sessions – kicking it off with this stellar engagement session in Malibu!!

This one is close to my heart because I’ve known the bride, also named Tracey, since we were in diapers.  How cute are we in our matching pink Members Only jackets?!!  We also had pink and white cowboy boots with glitter and fringe – miss those things!  This is why I love photography, because I have these moments captured forever…

Tracey is one of my best friends and has been so supportive of my business since the beginning, so I was absolutely honored when they asked me to take their engagement photos!

Tracey and her fiancé, Chris, have been together for almost a decade (!!).  They met while Tracey was a PT aide in undergrad and Chris was a patient…

…and the rest is history!  They dated for a long time, but did all the things married couples do, so we gave them a combined last name 😂.  Needless to say, we were all on the edge of our seats waiting for the big proposal!

They are perfect for each other, and I don’t say that lightly.  These two are so much fun to be around, and I love how silly they are together (sometimes I think they have their own language)!  They also LOVE to travel.  Just last year they went to Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Havasupai, Peru (including trekking through the Amazon), and achieved her childhood dream of hiking (err rock climbing) to the top of Half Dome in Yosemite.  Little did she know, there was an even BETTER surprise at the top of the rock!!!  Cue the proposal!

Chris even took VIDEO!!  OMG I cry every time I watch it!  (PS: “Thank you!” = “YES!!”😂 )

 

So I knew the location for their engagement photos had to be PERFECT!  No pressure.

We chatted about some different ideas, but finally landed on beautiful Malibu.  The first location had a California/winery type vibe and the white stucco building is reminiscent of the ranch house at their wedding venue.  The latter is a secret spot I found after hours of scouting and research.  It wasn’t easy to get to (we may have gone off-roading a bit!), but it had the same look as Yosemite, and I had professional hikers on my hands, so we were going to make it happen!

Tracey and Chris, thank you guys so much for years of friendship and love!  It is a privilege to be a part of this time in your lives!!  I’m so FREAKIN EXCITED for your big day!
