My best friend, Jenny and I have talked about visiting Magnolia Market at the Silos in Waco, TX since we first started watching HGTV’s Fixer Upper. If you don’t know what that is, stop right here and go watch an episode. #JoannaGainesIsOurQueen. So when our schedule’s aligned – a President’s Day trip with our hubby’s was born! We actually spent a full day in Austin and full day in Waco, and then Dustin and I drove up to Dallas to see Michaela, one of my brides who’s getting married in June!
Fun fact – I embarrassingly tweeted Joanna Gaines who LIKED my freakin’ tweet back in 2013. I’d like to think that was a time before she had a team running her social channels.
Anyway, since we stayed in Austin, we woke up extra early to start our road trip to Waco. We knew being a Saturday on a holiday weekend was going to be busy, so we arrived at the Magnolia Market at the Silos around 8:30am. Such a good call (if you ever plan to visit)!! This glorious place brings in an estimated 25,000 to 30,000 people PER WEEK. I knew it was going to be a madhouse, but I had no idea it was that popular. Y’all have great taste! We spent a good portion of the day just hanging out at the beautiful picnic tables, enjoying the good weather and good company.
We also shopped (of course!) and purchased #DemoDay t-shirts, Waco t-shirts, magnets, candles, hats and more! It was everything we imagined and a dream come true to visit!! We’re only sad we didn’t get a chance to take a picture with Chip and Jo……. or did we? 😉 Keep scrolling to find out!
Enjoy!
I’m not just saying this, these cupcakes are THE BEST I’ve ever had!!!
After visiting the Silos, we decided to visit other staple locations from Fixer Upper! Our first stop – the original Magnolia Market, where it all began.
Then we moseyed on over to Harp Design Co. owned by Clint and Kelly Harp. Their handmade furniture and wood pieces are featured in every episode!
I guess you could say this is where we got a little creepy. We wanted to see some of the homes for ourselves! Lucky for us, Clint and Kelly’s home is right next to their store, so we took a picture from the parking lot. Here are the pictures of the reno from the Magnolia Market blog. Then just down the street we saw the Beanstalk Bungalow. I loved this home – 90% due in part to the arched front door and planter boxes.
We saved the best for last with the Magnolia House! It’s located in McGregor, which was a good half hour away from Downtown Waco, but so worth the drive. It’s even more STUNNING in person!!
Also, the cute Carriage House in the back!
And we finished off with a stop by the Visitor’s Center to take a picture with Chip and Jo!
If the pictures weren’t enough, here’s a little video from our time at the Silos!!
