Photographing the Keating family is always such an honor. Kate is a talented photographer, and my family loves having our own photos taken by her. It means so much whenever she asks me to step behind the camera and photograph her family in return.

For their latest family session, we met in a beautiful Palos Verdes garden surrounded by greenery, open ocean views, and the most incredible golden-hour light. The warm glow made the entire evening feel a little magical and gave us the perfect setting for bright, natural family photos.

Kate came with her husband, their two daughters, and their sweet dog, Winnie, who joined us for a few photos. We kept everything relaxed and let the family enjoy the garden together. There was plenty of room to wander, laugh, cuddle, and soak up the last light of the day.

The girls brought such a cheerful energy to the session, and it was lovely capturing the connection they share as a family. Winnie was also very happy to be included, and naturally added an extra dose of personality to their portraits.

Palos Verdes is one of my favorite places for family photography because it offers such a beautiful mix of coastal scenery and natural landscapes. During this session, the garden was glowing, the ocean stretched out behind us, and the light just kept getting better. It was truly an epic golden hour.

Sessions like this are a good reminder that family photos can feel both beautiful and easy. You do not need complicated poses or a perfectly planned evening. A peaceful setting, lovely light, and time to be together can create photographs that feel warm, joyful, and true to your family.
