The Vollkommer family’s Torrance Beach session felt like the perfect way to capture their summer together.

Their two young boys have been spending so much of the season at the beach, so it was only fitting that we chose a place they already loved. From the moment we started, they were ready to explore, play, and head straight toward the water.

They splashed in little bowls carved into the sand, chased seagulls along the shoreline, and happily ran in and out of the waves. We could barely get them out of the ocean by the end of the session. They were having so much fun that they did not want to leave.

That playful energy made the whole evening feel easy and natural. We kept things relaxed, let the boys lead the way, and created space for plenty of movement, laughter, cuddles, and sandy little moments in between.

Torrance Beach was such a beautiful setting for their family photos. The soft coastal light, open shoreline, and cheerful summer atmosphere gave us the perfect backdrop for both playful images and relaxed family portraits.

Family sessions with young kids do not need to feel stiff or overly planned. Sometimes the best photos happen when everyone has room to be themselves. For the Vollkommer family, that meant sandy feet, ocean splashes, seagull chasing, and two very happy boys soaking up every last minute at the beach.
