Welcome to Laura and Simon’s Catalina Island wedding weekend at the Catalina Country Club!!

Laura and Simon met back in 2011 when Laura was visiting a mutual friend in California. They had an instant connection, and maintained a long distance relationship for six months before Laura moved out west to be with Simon!

On the ferry out to the island, we could overhear friends and family talking about the two sweethearts, sharing excitement for the weekend, how perfect Laura and Simon are for each other (seriously – if any two people defined “soulmates”, it’s these two!) and how long they’ve all waited for this day!

With less than 40 people in attendance, it was perfectly intimate and we actually had the pleasure of getting to know some of their guests. Everyone was so welcoming and made us feel like family! We truly felt like we were guests celebrating our friends exchanging “I do’s!”

Laura and Simon, thank you so much for sharing this weekend with us!  We love you both!!

Their first dance was set to “Luna” by the Smashing Pumpkins. The 90s girl in me is all about this… “I’ll singggg for you”!

 

I can’t stress how much I love a non-traditional wedding morning! Simon joined Laura while she was getting her hair and makeup done, and it was so much fun to see them share the morning together.

This was one of my favorite parts of the morning!  Three of Laura’s best friends joined her while she was getting ready.  They all grew up on the same street and have remained BFFs to this day.  One of them brought a time capsule they made when they were kids, which included Tiger Beat magazine posters of Hanson and JTT, as well as some before and after makeover pictures they gave each other!  It was epic.  More people should do time capsules!

Simon and Alex didn’t have anything to drink except two mini Moscato bottles, followed by “that was disgusting!” and infectious laugher. 😂

 

 

   

 

 

The morning after, and subsequent boat ride back home. Cheers to an awesome weekend!!
