Sarah + Torin // The Oak Room at Calamigos Ranch Photography

Sarah and Torin are the cuuuuuutest! I love them so much. Sarah found me through my former boss (shout out to Mel!), and I’m so glad she did. I had such a great time working with them, and documenting their cuddly, silly, sweetest love!

They were married at Calamigos Ranch, a beautiful woodsy venue nestled in the hills of Malibu, California. I like to make a point of asking my couples what they were looking for in a wedding venue and what drew them to their specific venue. This way I can work those elements into their photos — light-permitting of course! They told me they were drawn to the greenery, woodsy vibe, and large glass windows. Calamigos made that very easy because those elements are in abundance on their property!

One of my favorite moments from their wedding day was their first look. Torin started getting choked up even before Sarah walked up, and then Sarah started crying, and then we were all crying. In December, the sun sets very early at 4:30pm, so we wanted to beat the light and get all portraits done before the ceremony. What’s great about that is that it allows you to enjoy cocktail hour after the ceremony, or enjoy a little one-on-one time with your new husband/wife like they did! I highly recommend this type of timeline for my couples who want more photos and time to socialize with their guests and enjoy those cocktail apps (nom!)!!
